The Salahi gatecrashers are on about minute 14 and a half now. They’re almost, but not quite, out of their full 15. Yes, they’ll be subpoenaed later this week supposedly but more importantly, Tareq Salahi just resigned from the Virginia Tourism Board! What will Virginia wine and horse country do without him?
He says he resigned due to negative attention surrounding his partycrashing the White House’s formal dinner a couple of weeks ago. But doesn’t he know that all press is good press? He could have drawn even more people to the Commonwealth by staying on the Tourism Board. Why, he and his wife could have developed special out-of-towner tours on how to:
- Get “invited” to a White House soiree
- Bounce a $24,000 check for liquor
- Slip by Secret Service goons
- Bill yourself as a mover and shaker when you really live in the rural boondocks and even your homeowners association won’t have anything to do with you
- Get into Redskins Cheerleaders alumni parties (currently a very hot ticket considering the team’s 3-9 record)
- Stiff “happening” Washington, DC hairstylists
- Get booked on the Today Show
Talk about really learning about your destination! These would have had the tourists flocking to them. Oh well. Tareq, the VTB will miss your wild and wacky ways. We can only hope you’ll be replaced by someone worthy. Tiger Woods, you available?
