The Mindful Tourist Presents Snarky New Videos!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Here at The Mindful Tourist, we’re always touting getting to know people, becoming a part of the community, yada, yada, yada.  That doesn’t necessarily mean we do that ourselves on a daily basis at home, unfortunately.

We don’t know the large majority of our neighbors – not the ones whose dog craps in our lawn every day, not the ones who have seven cars parked at their house, and certainly not the ones who spend hours and hours on the neighborhood listserve, answering every banal question posed.  (“Anyone have any ideas on the type of toothpaste I should buy at CVS tonight?”)

However, sifting through all those listserve messages may have been worth it because we’ve just connected with a neighbor, Bonnie Rich, who produces some VERY funny videos and posts them on YouTube.  She has given us her blessing to post a few of them on this site.  Here’s the first one we’re highlighting.

We love quirky little places like this.  Back in the day, we braved an ice storm to visit the now-defunct James Dean museum in Gas City, Indiana.  It’s nice to talk with the person behind the madness/genius while checking out treasures like this.

Check this space next week for the next Bonnie video coming to you from Puerta Vallarta – you really won’t want to miss it!  Check out Bonnie’s YouTube channel here.
