Resort Shmesort: Colmar Tropicale
Let’s check out the Colmar Tropicale, a self-styled “French-themed resort” in Bentung, Malaysia, voted one of TripAdvisor’s Dirtiest Hotels of 2009. Here’s what guests have to say about it:
“So-called attractions like the ‘rabbit park’ (a large cage filled with probably 20 or so rabbits and kids tormenting them).”
and
“When I opened the bathroom there was mold all over the toilet.”
and
“Our bedroom’s plastic bath was almost black from dirt and grease, the rubbish bins were never emptied and the whole room was not vacuumed. Dust every where. T.V. in bedroom was just sound and no picture.”
And after all that:
“My brother told us of resort. He was not impressed but we had to experience it ourselves. Brother’s correct - we too are not impressed!”
This person recommended the hotel for “outdoor and adventure” travelers. Hey, TripAdvisor Poster: 1. What did your brother ever do to you so you wouldn’t trust him on a bad hotel review? and 2. Why would outdoor/adventure travelers be interested in a fleabag like this? Moldy toilets aren’t adventurous. If I want dirt, I’ll camp out, not choose to pay money for dust in a cramped, French-themed room. Mkay?
